Aloha! I’m Wray Ardan, a workaholic and aspiring author living on Maui.

Yep, I love to write! Perhaps my need to write is part of my innate being, or maybe it came about through osmosis from growing up across the street from Theodor Geisel, a.k.a. Dr. Seuss.

Many of my story ideas have been inspired by sculptures created by my brilliant creative partner, artist, Steven Lee Smeltzer (you can view Steven’s unique art at www.stevenleesmeltzer.com).

So far the 21st century has been an adventurous time for us. It started with our setting up a creature shop for a computer animation company in Florida; working as associate producers and set designers on a television pilot; having our characters featured in the children’s CGI movie Dwegons; working with author/screenwriter Mark Leiren-Young and pitching movie treatments at Beacon Pictures and New Line Productions. Now I’ve completed my first novel, and producer Debra Basset has shown interest in the movie rights.

As far as I know, I am not clinically insane, though when my characters start talking to me in my head, I have found it best to write down what they have to say. I can hear more ideas calling out to me to hurry up, so I’d better get writing.

Click on my BOOKS page to view a sample of what I have been working on. While my BLOG will take you on my twelve month journey as I learn how to have fun living on Maui, and in the process free my creative mind. (It’s easy to be a workaholic when you love what you do.)

Mahalo for stopping by,

Wray Ardan
